Our loss is Heaven’s gain when Kathleen Stanfield Caudill, 77, of Bluff City, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at her residence, after an extended illness. There to meet her, were her parents, Robert F. and Beulah Woodroe Carr Stanfield, and her beloved husband, Reverend Raymond Caudill.
Kathleen was born in Sullivan County, Tenn., on November 25, 1937. Kathleen wasn’t afraid of hard work and never backed down from it, or from a challenge. She started her working career right out of High School in 1956 for Carl Moore at SE Massengill Company in Bristol, working there for 12 years; she then moved to Florida, where she worked for General Electric Corporation. During that time, her son, Robert, came along and she, along with Rob and her husband, returned to Tennessee, where she gained employment at Paty Lumber Company, and worked for the next 24 years. After Paty closed, she found employment as the office manager with Tetrick Funeral Home, at the Bluff City, Tennessee office, where she worked for 15 years, until her retirement in May of 2015. She was a member of Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church and was loved and adored by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing or meeting her. She had a way of making everyone feel loved and special and will be missed tremendously.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving son and his wife, Robert and Kristina Caudill, of Bristol, Tenn.; four grandchildren, whom she adored, Josh, Zac, Chris and Alyssa Pfeifer and husband Bryan; two great-grandchildren, Bryan and Adam Pfeifer; two sisters, Marie Friesland and her husband Don, Bluff City, and Barbara Helton, Bristol, Tenn.; two sisters-in-law, Louise Caudill, Bluff City, and Mary Caudill, Morristown. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and a multitude of friends also survive.
A service to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Kathleen Stanfield Caudill will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, at Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church in Bluff City with Rev. Jamie Ferguson and Rev. Rusty Verran officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 20, or at the residence at anytime. The graveside service will follow the funeral service on Tuesday in the Sunrise Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Chinquapin Baptist Church WMU organization and all of Kathleen’s co-workers at Tetrick Funeral Home, who considered her their family. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church, 1489 Walnut Grove Road, Bluff City, TN 37618, in remembrance of Kathleen. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.tetrickfuneralhome.com and signing the guestbook.
