Tip Lewis Heaton

Tip Lewis Heaton, 84, of Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at his residence.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Oliver and Irene Winters Heaton.
Mr. Heaton was a retired Millwright from Daniel Construction Company. He was a member of the Roan Mountain Masonic Lodge #566.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred, Luther and Bob “Pete” Heaton, and three sisters, Bertie Roark, Gladys Barnett and Lucy Miller.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Mitchell Heaton; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Judy Heaton, Elizabethton, Jerry and Donna Heaton, Hampton, and Robert and Sherri Heaton, Roan Mountain; his grandchildren and their spouses, Wendy and Bill Winters, Elizabethton, Jamie and Dina Heaton, Mission Viejo, Calif., and Alex Heaton, Roan Mountain; his great-grandchildren, Dustin Winters, Jacob Winters, Thomas “Tomo” Heaton and Grace Heaton; several nieces and nephews; his special traveling buddy, Donna Tipton; his special back porch buddy, Larry Miller; his brother and sister-in-law, J.L. and Jean Troutman and family; and his special cat “Roho.”
The family received friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 28, at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at his residence. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Amedisys Hospice, the staff of Smokey Mountain Medical Equipment and Dr. Donnett Vincente.
