Kathryn Randolph Hardin, 90, of Elizabethton, passed away Monday, April 27, 2015, at Hermitage Health Center.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel B. and Viola Collins Randolph.
Mrs. Hardin was a 1942 graduate of Elizabethton High School. She was a homemaker who loved to cook and loved to hike. In the early ’70s, she and her son walked from Shady Valley to Watauga Lake on top of Iron Mountain. She was a member of Siam Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hardin, and two brothers, Vaughan and Jack Randolph.
Survivors include two daughters, Rosemary Trent and husband Curtiss, Maryville, Tenn., and Martha Talbert and husband John, Bristol, Va.; a son, Bobby Hardin and wife Yolanda, Elizabethton; five grandchildren, Robbie Talbert and wife Leah, Charlottesville, Va., Dr. Joey Talbert and wife Megan, Ames, Iowa, Jamie Talbert and wife Kesha, Greensboro, N.C., Michael Trent and wife Ashley, Maryville, Tenn., and Bethany Spelce and wife Alex, Knoxville; and her great-grandchildren, Bryson and Maddie, both of Charlottesville, Va., and Audrey Kathryn Trent, Maryville, Tenn.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hardin will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jack Roddy and Mr. Curtis Trent officiating. Interment will follow in the Caldwell Springs Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
