It’s time to dust off those dancing shoes. No, wait — dancing boots — and get ready for a good time at the Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Dinner.
The dinner will be held on May 12 at 7 p.m. at the Old Barn Restaurant and will have the theme “In Our Roots.”
“It is a country theme,” Chamber Director Tonya Stevens said. “We are going back to our roots. Everything we are in this county is in our roots.”
Tickets to the dinner are $50 and include dinner at the Old Barn Restaurant and entertainment from local band, Daisi Rain. The country band from Gray will perform original songs as well as covers of other country hits, Stevens said.
“They have a great sound and we look forward to hearing them perform,” Stevens said.
For the first part of the dinner, attendees will be treated to a traditional country dinner featuring fried chicken, barbecue and a variety of side dishes.
“It’ll be good, hearty country food,” Stevens said. “Be sure to come hungry.”
After that, the group will move over to the restaurant’s pavilion for music and dancing.
The dinner will also act as the Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting. The meeting will be hosted by outgoing president Melanie Stanton, who will pass the gavel to the new Chamber president.
“We will discuss a little business, and have a lot of fun,” Stevens said.
Anyone interested in attending the Annual Dinner can purchase tickets at the Chamber of Commerce at 500 Veterans Memorial Parkway, Elizabethton. The deadline to purchase tickets is May 5.
“If you are interested, go ahead and get your ticket order in,” Stevens said.
