Rose Merritt Range, 100, of Ranger, Ga., passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at the residence of her daughter. Rose was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Wheeler and Josie Glover Merritt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Basil Range; a daughter, Glenda Clincher; a sister, Axie Merritt; and three brothers, Grant, Charlie and Lloyd Merritt.
Rose had lived and worked many years in Detroit, Mich., before retiring and moving back to her beloved Tennessee. Because of her declining health, she had spent the last several years living in the Georgia home of her daughter, Joyce, who was her main caregiver. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cooking, especially chocolate pies, and working in her flowers.
Rose was of the Pentecostal faith and believed greatly in the power of prayer. She had asked God to let her live to be 100 years old and she celebrated that milestone in December 2014, with a family celebration in Ranger, Ga.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Kenneth Range and Shelby Warren, both of Michigan, Lloyd Range and Joyce Hood, both of Georgia, and Johnny Range, of Elizabethton, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Music will be under the direction of Debbie Range and James Nave. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service, or at the residence of her son, Johnny, at anytime.
