The final year of the Three Rivers Conference will have the perfect sendoff this week.

Elizabethton (8-1, TRC 6-0) took care of business on Friday night in league play against Unicoi County (0-9, TRC 0-6), prevaling by a 43-7 margin at Gentry Stadium in Erwin.

With the win, the Cyclones, currently ranked in the AP top 10 poll after Monday’s release, will host Sullivan South on Thursday at Brown-Childress Stadium to defend their league title in a rematch after a 28-27 heart-racing victory in Death Valley last year.
