Charlotte Hubbard Hyder

Charlotte Hubbard Hyder, 72, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Austin and Geneva Lyons Hubbard.
Charlotte was a homemaker and a member of Unity Fellowship Church. She was a member of the Elizabethton Senior Citizens and a charter member of Hale’s Community Ministry. She enjoyed needlepoint and visiting people.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and sisters-in-law, William “Bill” and Maggie Hubbard, Alfred and Frankie Hubbard and Luther and Trula Hubbard, and four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Stella Sizemore, Anna Lee Shell, Mary and Tommy Coleman and Maggie and Alfred Junior Babb.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph Lee Hyder, of the home; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Denise Hubbard, Phoenix, Ariz., and Rick and Christy Hubbard, Elizabethton; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Shelby Cranford and Brenda and Tootie Poteat, all of Valdese, N.C. A very special aunt, Annie Tester, Elizabethton, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor the life of Mrs. Hyder will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, August 21, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Greg Wagner and Rev. Shannon Hoilman officiating. Music will be under the direction of Barbara Trent, Patsy Wagner and Rev. Shannon Hoilman. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, prior to the funeral service. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, August 22, at Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Mikey Hoilman, Matthew Hubbard, Austin Babb, Alex Hubbard, David Babb and Chelsey Hoilman. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby and Judy Babb, Steve and Carol Babb and Mike Babb. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Friday for the graveside service. The family would like to express a special thank you to the nurses, doctors and staff of the 2500 Wing of Johnson City Medical Center for their care to Charlotte.
