Officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested George W. Gwinn, 42, 1726 Hill Road, Elizabethton, on charges he did not make payments on title loans.
The arrest stems from an investigation in which Gwinn is accused of going to Tennessee Best Title Loans, 2111 N. Roan St., Johnson City, on two different dates, Dec. 5 and 6, 2013 and obtaining title loans on two different vehicles. Both loans were more than $1,000. Gwinn is accused of not making payments on the loans, then refusing to give the location of the vehicles when Tennessee Best Title Loans attempted to repossess the vehicles. Gwinn is charged with two counts of hindering secured creditor.
Gwinn is being held in lieu of a $20,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Washington County General Sessions Court on June 4 at 1:30 p.m.
