Cloudland to graduate ‘a great group’

Cloudland High School will celebrate the graduation of another class of students when the 2014 seniors make one final pass across the stage to receive their diplomas this evening.
The CHS graduation will be held at 7 p.m. at the school’s gymnasium.
“This is a great group of students, and they have worked hard,” said CHS counselor Barbara Marek.
A total of 44 students will be graduating this year. Valedictorian will be Jesica Miller, and salutatorian is Mason Carnett.
The Top 10 Percent includes Mason Carnett, Alex Heaton, Jesica Miller, Rachel Sparks, Marisa Taylor, Hayley Johnson and Madison Wilson. Jesica Miller also has a 4.0 grade point average.
2014 senior class officers are Jesica Miller, president; Cassidy Potter, vice president and Brook Putman, secretary.
During the graduation ceremony, the valedictorian and salutatorian will each give a speech. Special music will be performed by Madison Wilson and Courtney Wilson.
Carter County Schools Director of Schools Kevin Ward, Carter County Board of Education member Don Julian and state Rep. Kent Williams will take part in the graduation ceremony. School Principal Randy Birchfield, assistant principal Lisa Benfield and Marek will also take part.
